Joya Zeitouny is a post-doctoral researcher working on the optimization, the manufacturing and the characterization of back reflectors for ultra-thin CIGS solar cells.
She graduated from the American University of Beirut (AUB) in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and a minor degree in Biomedical Engineering and emphasis in Power courses. She received then, in 2015, a master’s degree in engineering science from the University of Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC), Paris, Energy and Environment oriented. She completed her PhD in 2018 at the PROMES-CNRS Laboratory where her research focused on innovative systems to improve photovoltaic system efficiency. She studied the combination of angular restriction with solar concentration, hybrid PV/CSP systems as a mean to thermally store the excess energy and she optimized single and multi-junction PV cells at very high temperatures and/or concentration levels for different series resistances.
